Chelsea are reportedly growing increasingly confident that they can win the race to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi this summer, despite strong interest from Manchester United, according to reports.
The 24-year-old Germany international has emerged as a key transfer target for several Premier League clubs ahead of the upcoming window, with both Chelsea and Manchester United believed to be monitoring his situation closely at Dortmund.
According to recent claims cited by icfootballnews, CHELSEA believe they are in a strong position to secure Adeyemi’s signature and are optimistic about beating their Premier League rivals to the deal.
The West London club are expected to pursue attacking reinforcements this summer and see Adeyemi as an ideal addition due to his pace, versatility and ability to play across the forward line. Chelsea’s recruitment strategy has increasingly focused on young, high-potential talent, and the Dortmund attacker fits that profile.
Manchester United, however, are also firmly in the mix. Reports indicate that United view a potential move for Adeyemi as a “market opportunity” as they look to strengthen their attacking options. Earlier reports suggested the club had even held discussions with the player’s representatives regarding a future transfer.
Adeyemi’s future at Borussia Dortmund remains uncertain, which has helped fuel speculation about a possible summer departure. Contract negotiations between the German international and Dortmund have reportedly stalled, leaving the Bundesliga side at risk of losing him if a suitable offer arrives.
The forward joined Dortmund from RB Salzburg in 2022 and has since developed into one of the club’s most dynamic attacking players. Known for his explosive speed and direct style of play, Adeyemi has attracted interest from several top clubs across Europe, with the Premier League widely viewed as his most likely next destination.
For CHELSEA, the pursuit of Adeyemi could form part of a wider rebuild aimed at improving their attacking output and depth. The club’s hierarchy has shown a willingness to invest heavily in young talent in recent transfer windows, and securing the German forward would represent another statement signing.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are also expected to reshape their squad this summer and could look to add another wide forward to complement their existing attacking options.
While no agreement has been reached and Dortmund have yet to confirm a willingness to sell, the race for Adeyemi’s signature is already shaping up to be one of the Premier League’s most closely watched transfer battles ahead of the summer window.
