Curtis Samuel's stint with the Buffalo Bills is reportedly over.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bills are releasing the veteran wide receiver after two seasons with the team.
"Source: Bills are releasing WR Curtis Samuel," Schefter reported.
This is the second reported release for the Bills on Friday, as the team is also reportedly parting ways with veteran cornerback Taron Johnson.
Buffalo will open up a little over $6 million in cap space while incurring $3.4 million in dead money, per Over The Cap.
Why Bills are releasing Curtis Samuel
This one is zero surprise.
Samuel was a major disappointment over two seasons. Not only did he struggle to stay healthy, but Samuel also failed to produce much when on the field.
In 2024, Samuel caught 31 passes for 253 yards and one touchdown. Last season, he played in just six games and caught seven passes for 81 yards and one score.
Samuel's best moment with the Bills came in the 2024 postseason, when he tallied three catches for 68 yards and a touchdown in a 31-7 victory over the Denver Broncos in the wild-card round.
It made no sense for the Bills to run it back with him once again and they are better off taking the $6 million saved from cutting him and never looking back.
