Seahawks predicted to sign 113-sack edge rusher to $18 million contract

The Seattle Seahawks' offseason is going to be a tricky one. Boye Mafe, Rashid Shaheed, Kenneth Walker III, Josh Jobe, Coby Bryant, and Riq Woolen are all hitting the open market this offseason.

While Seattle is slated to lose a few of those free agents, and the team needs to be careful about its spending, that doesn't mean it cannot add some top-tier players this offseason.

ESPN's Dan Graziano predicts that the Seahawks will make one big addition this offseason in free agency, signing 113-sack edge rusher Khalil Mack to a huge $18 million one-year contract.

Seahawks predicted to sign Khalil Mack to $18M deal

"Khalil Mack, edge. Contract projection: One year, $18 million," Graziano writes. "Predicted landing spot: Seattle Seahawks."

While the Seahawks might be losing a few key players this offseason, they're still a Super Bowl contender and should be looking to add to their roster.

While the 35-year-old Mack, who had 5.5 sacks last season for the Los Angeles Chargers, might not be the best free agent available, he is the perfect kind of free agent for the Seahawks.

It would be a one-year contract, and while $18 million is a lot, adding Mack, a potential future Hall of Famer, would be worth it.

He's a nine-time Pro Bowler, three-time All-Pro, and former Defensive Player of the Year. Mack will have some suitors, but the Seahawks might be the best landing spot for the veteran pass rusher this offseason.

He would be a fantastic player to replace Mafe and pair with Uchena Nwosu at pass rusher. DeMarcus Lawrence has an uncertain future as well, so Mack, a 12-year veteran, would be a great one-year rental as they pursue repeat Super Bowl titles.
