Heat announces details for Family Festival after cancellation of original event

After inclement weather forced the Miami Heat to cancel this past Sunday’s Family Festival at Kaseya Center, the Heat has organized a makeup event.

The Heat announced Friday that it will host a “Family Festival Follow-Up” on March 15 at Kaseya Center from 11:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m. The event will be held primarily on the arena’s East Plaza.

“We were incredibly disappointed that severe weather forced us to cancel this year’s Miami Heat Family Festival — it’s one of our favorite annual traditions, and we know how much it means to you and all the event attendees,” the Heat wrote as part of the promotion of its makeup Family Festival.

“So, while we couldn’t control the weather, we still want to make sure you get the Family Festival experience.”

Family Festival is an annual block party-style event hosted by the Heat that supports the Miami Heat Charitable Fund and provides fans the chance to meet Heat players, coaches, and their families. The event features auction items, photo opportunities, meet-and-greets and live entertainment, and attendees can also enjoy free food from some of South Florida’s most popular restaurants.

The Heat’s March 15 “Family Festival Follow-Up” will include free parking in the Kaseya Center’s P2 parking garage, photo opportunities with Heat players, complimentary food sampling from Kaseya Center’s restaurant partners, and interactive games and activities.

Attendees of the originally scheduled Family Festival will also have two options regarding the tickets they purchased to the canceled event. Attendees can request a full refund by emailing ticketsales@Heat.com and or they can leave their contribution to the Miami Heat Charitable Fund in place.

Whether a full refund is requested or not, those who purchased tickets to the canceled Family Festival are invited to attend the “Family Festival Follow-Up.”
