Dominik Szoboszlai starred once again for Liverpool against Wolves, this time in the FA Cup, but he turned fewer heads with his haircut than in the Premier League clash in midweek.

Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai raised a few eyebrows in midweek when he turned up at Molineux with a new hairstyle in his side's clash with Wolves in the Premier League.

The Hungarian star rocked cornrows during the match, a new look that attracted plenty of attention from supporters and neutrals on social media. Not everyone was convinced by the look, including Szoboszlai, it seems, as he made a U-turn on that hairstyle for the following match against Wolves in the FA Cup on Friday night.

The 25-year-old reverted to his usual, free-flowing hairstyle for the match, as he kept his place in the team for the cup clash. He started in the midfield, as he and his Liverpool teammates looked to get revenge for their frustrating late defeat to Wolves just a few days before.

The Reds were held for the vast majority of the Premier League encounter on Tuesday, before Rodrigo Gomes fired Wolves into the lead in the 78th minute. Mohamed Salah struck back in the 83rd minute, but a back-and-forth final few minutes led to a winner from Andre, coming as quite a blow to Arne Slot and his side.

Liverpool remains sixth in the division as a result, but with three points separating them from third, the race for Champions League qualification is still firmly on. Slot may be glad that attention can turn towards the FA Cup and the Champions League over the coming week, after the frustration at Molineux.

While Szoboszlai was in focus for his hair rather than his performance last time out, the star has more than shown his quality over the course of the season so far. He has largely featured as a number eight since signing for the Merseyside club, but this campaign has seen some impressive displays as a number ten, as well as at right-back.

In 38 appearances across all competitions this season, the versatile midfielder has scored ten goals and assisted eight, underlining his quality. It's one of the reasons that Slot has claimed he is one of the best in the world, but the main attribute he has received praise for is out of possession.

Slot told TNT Sports: "Dominik has a lot of qualities. He is an all-round player, an all-round midfielder, a modern midfielder in my opinion. Last season he was already very good - mainly off the ball, a bit on the ball - and I think this season he has improved his game on the ball.

"Off the ball he is top three, four or five in the world, and [he is] maybe the best in the world in terms of pressing."
