After registering nine sacks last season, Washington Commanders star Von Miller has publicly declared early in January that he prefers to remain with the team in 2026. Should things go south with the Commanders, Miller wouldn’t mind returning to his former teammates at the Denver Broncos.
For Miller, a return to the Broncos will help him fulfill his deep-seated love for his former team. Here’s more to his story.

Miller was clear about his love for on-field time in Washington during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show earlier this month. However, he has also clarified that his second choice team would be a return to his initial NFL side.
A return to the Broncos, Miller claims, would give him a chance to get “closure”, something he didn’t get before leaving during his first stint. Yet, Miller isn’t adamant about joining any team.
While speaking on the show, Miller conceded that he wouldn’t mind joining whatever team fancies his skills, besides his first two choices. Regardless of the squad he eventually joins, Miller has chosen to maximize any opportunities that come his way.

Miller played 142 games, made three All-Pro teams and was named the Super Bowl 50 MVP after being drafted second overall by Denver in 2011. Here’s how a social media account relayed the development:
“Scary: The legendary Von Miller wants to return to the Broncos next season to help them win a Super Bowl.

Current Broncos GM George Paton was in his first year with the franchise when Miller got traded to the Rams in 2021. However, the franchise made a significant shift by hiring Sean Payton as their head coach in 2023 and they emerged the top seed in the AFC playoffs last season. If they find Miller as a piece that can help them maintain their fine form, we might see the edge rusher’s career run full circle before it eventually ends.
