The Green Bay Packers have quite a few free agency decisions to make with the offseason getting underway. Many players are set to become free agents and Brian Gutekunst will have to decide who to keep and who to let walk.

Romeo Doubs is one of the main free agents who could leave the Packers this offseason.

Over the last couple of years, Doubs has become the clear-cut favorite target for quarterback Jordan Love. He has been an excellent combination of being a possession wideout while also being able to make plays down the field.

Losing Doubs would be a tough blow for the Green Bay offense. Unfortunately, it seems very likely that he will leave town to sign with another team in free agency.

Keeping that in mind, a new prediction has been made about Doubs’ upcoming free agency. This prediction would see the talented wide receiver sign with an NFC rival.

Latest Romeo Doubs Prediction Sees Him Leave Packers for NFC Rival

ESPN’s Dan Graziano has Doubs signing with another NFC team, although this move wouldn’t see him stay in the NFC North division. Instead, he would sign with the San Francisco 49ers.

In this projection, Doubs would sign a three-year, $49 million contract with the 49ers to become a new weapon for Brock Purdy.

Seeing him leave for San Francisco would be a gut punch for Packers fans. The two teams do not like each other very much. Doubs would also have a chance to come back and haunt Green Bay in future matchups between the two NFC contenders.

Throughout his four seasons with the Packers, the 25-year-old wide receiver has played in 59 games. He has caught 202 passes for 2,424 yards and 21 touchdowns. Those numbers would be missed by the Green Bay offense.

Should Doubs end up leaving the Packers, they would still feature a wide receiver room of Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks, Jayden Reed, Matthew Golden, and Savion Williams. That corps would give Love plenty of weapons, especially with Tucker Kraft coming back healthy.

Romeo Doubs Would Be a Perfect Fit with the 49ers

While it’s painful to say, Doubs is exactly what the 49ers need to find this offseason.

Purdy is set to lose Brandon Aiyuk and potentially Jauan Jennings as well in free agency. Doubs would help replace the loss of both of those players.

Not only would Doubs be a big pickup for the 2026 season, he could be a piece that San Francisco builds around moving forward. He is still young with plenty of room to grow and develop his game.

Expect to see a long list of teams show up with interest in signing Doubs. The 49ers will likely be one of those teams, but they will need to be aggressive in order to sign him.
