With free agency right around the corner, the New England Patriots are aiming to make a big trade. Rumors have continued to pick up linking them to Philadelphia Eagles' wide receiver A.J. Brown, and it sounds like the talented pass catcher could be on the move within the next couple of days.
Whether or not the Pats will be the team that lands him is unknown, but it sounds like talks between the two sides are heating up. While conflicting reports have emerged regarding whether or not any official offers have actually been made for Brown, a new rumor indicates that New England offered a first and third-round pick for Brown, only to get turned down by the Eagles.
"They have made an offer for A.J.," Anthony Gargano said on "The Anthony Gargano Show." "It's around a (first-round pick) and a (third-round pick) ... I'm not sure if the (first-round pick) is this year or next year, but I hear ... Howie (Roseman) said no."
Philadelphia has not been shy in letting teams know that it won't move Brown unless it gets precisely what it is looking for. Other reports indicate that the team is looking for first and second-round picks, in addition to a player as well, in exchange for Brown.
As things stand, it seems like that price is too high for N.E., which is totally understandable. If the Eagles truly want to move Brown, though, they may have to do so before free agency approaches, which could force them to lower their asking price in order to help push a deal through with the Pats, or any other team interested in acquiring him.
