Liverpool cruised to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with a 3-1 win at Wolves and it was Arne Slot‘s left-hand side that stood out most at Molineux.

Goals: Hwang 90+1′; Robertson 51′, Salah 53′, Jones 73′

Alisson – 6 (out of 10)

A virtual spectator for most of the night but did what he had to cleanly and thankfully didn’t fluff any clearances this time.

Dominik Szoboszlai – 7

The Hungarian is less involved in the game when he moves to right-back, but still managed to play a key role in Liverpool getting the ball into the final third and ran as hard as ever.

Joe Gomez – 7

When he plays like this, it only emphasise what a shame it is that he is so frequently injured. Calm and composed.

Virgil van Dijk – 7

Looked keen to put Tolu Arokodare in his place after his midweek mishaps and succeeded in doing so.

Andy Robertson – 8

Where has that ball-strike been during his nine years at Liverpool?! The cross to set up the second, however, was vintage Robertson.

Ryan Gravenberch – 7

Put a ropey performance last time at Molineux behind him by helping the visitors control things in midfield throughout.

Some nice dribbles and an assist.

Alexis Mac Allister – 6

Another game up against a physical midfield in which he seemed to struggle with that aspect, but he did keep plugging away at least.

Mohamed Salah – 6

Played a role in the first goal and then scored himself but this wasn’t the best version of Salah.

Perhaps that will be enough between now and the end of the season.

Curtis Jones – 8

Scored, set one up, and did not misplace a single one of his passes all evening. It has been a rough few weeks for the Scouser but he was back to his best in this one

Rio Ngumoha – 8 (Man of the Match)

The undoubted star of the show, with his dribbling not only putting a smile on fans’ faces but also giving Liverpool something they have sorely lacked of late. Surely he has to start more often?

Cody Gakpo – 5

Worked hard and was secure in possession but just could not get involved as often as he would have liked in the centre-forward role.

Overall Team Performance: 7

Substitutes

Florian Wirtz (on for Ngumoha, 69′) – 6 – A welcome return.

Jeremie Frimpong (on for Salah, 69′) – 7 – His pace made Liverpool even more dangerous late on.

Ibrahima Konate (on for Van Dijk, 81′) – 6 – Should have scored.

Trey Nyoni (on for Mac Allister, 82′) – 6 – More important minutes in the tank.

Kieran Morrison (on for Gakpo, 86′) – 6 – A good experience.

Subs not used: Mamardashvili, Kerkez, Chiesa, Ekitike

Arne Slot – 7

The manager will probably argue that the only difference between this game and Tuesday was that Liverpool got the first goal through a moment of quality, but his players did seem to heed his calls to pass with more zip and authority earlier on.
