Andy Robertson marked his return to the Liverpool lineup with a goal and an assist, and gave an interesting interview after the whistle blew at Molineux.
One of the veterans of this side, Robertson’s uncertain Liverpool future has become a pertinent talking point as he enters the final months of his contract.
There are plenty of fans who think FSG should keep Robertson in the dressing room beyond the end of the season, but his own words point to a different outcome.
Discussing the emergence of Milos Kerkez as the number one choice at left-back, the Scotsman didn’t sound like someone desperate to keep his place at Anfield.

Andy Robertson sounds accepting of Liverpool exit
Robertson led Liverpool against Wolves, winding back the clock with a vintage full-back masterclass.
He looked like he could start every week. But his new teammate Kerkez has found his feet, and the 31-year-old is handling it with the professionalism we have come to expect and admire.
Speaking to BBC Sport after the game, he remarked: “I’m not sure if I have a point to prove in a Liverpool shirt. The fans know I give everything in a Liverpool shirt. When you get on the pitch you just want to enjoy it. It is what it is. Milos [Kerkez] is a fantastic left-back.

“He had an unbelievable season last season at Bournemouth. It took time to settle into a big club. The club has to move forward, the lads who have been here so long are not getting any younger. You have to accept it.”
Those sound like the words of a player pondering their future and accepting the change of the guard. He has nothing more to prove.
Months ago, Robertson emphasised his desire to play more minutes. It could be that he has to end his Liverpool journey to achieve that goal.
Alan Shearer questions Kerkez over Robertson
After the game, Alan Shearer asked a question not many have posed recently.
He wondered whether Kerkez has done enough to nail down the spot over Robertson.
He says: “I am not sure Milos Kerkez has pushed Andy Robertson enough to be playing as much as he has done. Kerkez has slightly improved, but Robertson is a great professional, and he probably can’t say what he wants to say.
“He has been outstanding for Liverpool.”

He has been magnificent in a red shirt, but the reasoning for giving Kerkez the larger role is simple. He’s the future of the position at Liverpool and hasn’t merited being dropped since carving out the starting berth for himself.
