The NFL’s new league year is approaching. Teams are making calls to check who is available, who isn’t, and maybe even who will be released.
The Atlanta Falcons released an offensive playmaker this week and are now discussing trading another. On Friday, reports surfaced that the Falcons are exploring trading away their 2021 first-round pick.

That player, of course, is the recently franchise-tagged tight end, Kyle Pitts. Pitts has had an up-and-down career with the Falcons.

However, at his best, Pitts is one of the best pass-catchers in the NFL. Not just a tight end, but a truly dynamic offensive weapon.

The report indicated head coach Kevin Stefanski prefers to keep Pitts as he sees him as that dynamic threat. However, the compensation for Pitts could sway the Falcons’ head coach and front office.

Pitts has been coming off a career high in receptions (88) and touchdowns (5). His presence helped ignite a late-season Falcons surge that kept them in the playoff hunt.

Pitts likely wants a long-term deal–something the Falcons may not be 100% willing to do. Could Pitts be on the move this offseason?
