Markelle Fultz -- yes, that Markelle Fultz -- has signed with the Toronto Raptors' organization.
The Raptors announced Friday that they've signed Fultz to their G League team, Raptors 905.
Fultz, believe it or not, is still just 27 years old, but no one saw this coming.
It's not clear exactly where Fultz has been this season. His last recorded basketball action came in the NBA for the Sacramento Kings in 2024-25, when he played in 21 games at just 8.8 minutes per contest (2.9 ppg, 1.3 apg).
The NBA's official website said that's Fultz's last basketball action, so that seems to be the case.

Clearly, it wouldn't be a surprise if he battled another injury, but it's uncertain.
It's also not clear what he has left in the tank after an NBA career that hasn't come close to living up to the hype.
Fultz was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers out of Washington.
Somewhere along the way, though, maybe due to injury, his shot broke.
He was still an athletic enough playmaker to turn into a decent option for the Orlando Magic after being shipped out of Philly after just two years. He had four consecutive seasons with the Magic in which he averaged double-figure scoring and five-plus assists per game.
But after that, Fultz had a quieter season in Orlando, then his whisper of a season with the Kings.
Now, Fultz will try to revitalize his career. He can be an impactful defender and playmaker, but his outside shot still never came around (career 28% 3-point shooter).
It's just fascinating to see him making a bit of a comeback. The basketball world will watch with interest to see what he's still got left.
