Before any history buffs hit me with an “Um, actually…” I just want to get out in front and say I’m aware the “Ides of March” is technically meant to be the time around March 15. Julius Caesar, ever heard of him? But beyond that, the phrase “Beware the Ides of March,” is a warning to be cautious of impending danger. I can think of no point on the NFL calendar where that applies more than on the cusp of Free Agency, which officially starts this coming Wednesday, with the “legal tampering” period taking effect on Monday.
