Washington Commanders re-sign Treylon Burks on 1-year deal

The Washington Commanders have been working to sign some of their pending free agents before the new league year starts next Wednesday at 4 pm. Wide receiver Treylon Burks was signed to the Commanders practice squad in early October after he was released by the Tennessee Titans who had made him a first-round pick in 2022. Burks had fractured his collarbone in training camp, and the Titans were ready to move on from a disapointing draft pick.

Treylon Burks was elevated for the Seahawks game, but wasn’t signed to the active roster until Luke McCaffrey was placed on injured reserve. Burks made one of the best catches of the season against the Denver Broncos, pulling in a one-handed touchdown. Burks will return to a wide receiver room that will need some new bodies this season. Deebo Samuel isn’t expected to return, along with Noah Brown. The Commanders will need a WR2 to pair with Terry McLaurin who is entering the second year of his new contract.
