Thunder predicted to receive No. 1 overall pick in 2026 NBA Draft, land 24.8 Ppg superstar to pair with Shai…

The Oklahoma City Thunder are coming off a championship year, and are still the best team in the Western Conference, arguably in the entire NBA. On top of that, the Thunder have a boatload of draft picks, one of which could net them a future superstar for next season.

According to Fansided’s Christohper Kline’s latest 2026 Mock Draft, he has the Thunder landing the No. 1 overall pick, and selecting A.J. Dybantsa from Brigham Young University.

“The fit here is seamless. Dybantsa is an uber-talented slasher, with dexterous limbs and a unique ability to get low, change direction and explode through gaps in the defense. He will need to refine his shot selection, but the 3-point volume has come on strong in conference play and Dybantsa exhibits feathery touch from all over the court. The mid-range pull-ups are effortless. He's a better playmaker than he gets credit for. The defense is hit or miss, but given Dybantsa's tools and upside, there's no reason OKC can't help him transform into a proper two-way superstar,” Kline wrote.

So far in his freshman season at BYU, Dybantsa is averaging 24.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.1 steals in 34 minutes per game. He would be an electric addition to the young OKC core, further solidifying their dynasty.

If the Thunder want, they could move Jalen Williams to shooting guard, and put Dybantsa at small forward. This would give them a starting five of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Williams, Dybantsa, Chet Holmgren, and Isaiah Hartenstein, which is undoubtedly the best starting five in the league.

For Thunder fans, hopefully this mock draft comes to fruition. For the rest of the NBA, hopefully not.
