The Dallas Cowboys have been heavily rumored to be one of the teams most interested in pulling off a blockbuster trade for Las Vegas Raiders superstar pass rusher Maxx Crosby.
With the offseason about to officially begin, the rumors have been flying around. A Crosby trade has now been completed by the Raiders.
According to a report from NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Las Vegas has agreed to a deal to send Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens.
“Blockbuster: The Raiders are trading five-time Pro Bowl edge Maxx Crosby to the Ravens, sources tell me and @RapSheet,” Pelissero reported on X.
Dallas Cowboys Miss Out on Maxx Crosby
Despite all of the rumors and speculation about Jerry Jones pulling off a deal for Crosby, the Cowboys failed to offer up the winning bid. Crosby is now headed to his new home with the Ravens.
Crosby would have been a franchise-altering acquisition for Dallas. He could have been exactly what the team needed to fix the pass rushing void left by the Micah Parsons trade.
Unfortunately, fans will have to be patient and hope that the Cowboys can strike in NFL free agency.
Where Do the Cowboys Turn After Losing Out on Crosby?
There is still one clear avenue to fixing the void on the pass rushing side of the defense. That avenue is signing Cincinnati Bengals star free agent Trey Hendrickson.
Multiple reports had suggested that Dallas could move off of pursuing a trade for Crosby due to the Raiders’ high asking price. Those same reports also suggested that the Cowboys would shift their attention to trying to sign Hendrickson in free agency.
Hendrickson played in just seven games during the 2025 season with the Bengals. He recorded 16 tackles, four sacks, a forced fumble, and a defended pass.
In each of the two previous seasons, the 31-year-old star had recorded back-to-back seasons of 17.5 sacks. He is one of the best pure pass rushers in the NFL.
Signing a player like Hendrickson isn’t going to come cheap. Dallas would need to pay a pretty penny to bring him onboard. However, that seems like a clear option the Cowboys will pursue.
Expect to hear more rumors and reports about Jones’ plans for Dallas. Don’t be surprised if Hendrickson’s name is attached to those reports.
