German media drop verdict on Chelsea loanee Nicolas Jackson after rare Bayern Munich start

Despite Nicolas Jackson’s Bayern Munich future appearing to be over, the Chelsea loanee started and scored in a 4-1 win against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Nicolas Jackson looks set to return to Chelsea in the summer after a rather unsuccessful loan spell at Bayern Munich, which has seen him only make eight starts in 23 appearances.

It has been claimed that Premier League clubs are already circling for Jackson ahead of his return to Stamford Bridge, though the Blues may want to take a look at him.

Emanuel Emegha’s arrival in the summer is likely to put an end to any future for Jackson, but it may depend on what happens with Liam Delap.

Regardless, Jackson was actually given a rare start for Bayern Munich last night, and he even managed to get on the scoresheet.

Who should be Chelsea's number one goalkeeper?

German outlet Lauterbacher Anzeiger did their own ratings from the Bayern Munich vs Borussia Monchengladbach clash, and here’s how they went.

Nicolas Jackson was given a grade three, which isn’t as bad as it sounds. They rate the performance from grade one to three, with one being the best. He was one of four players to get a three.

‘Initially missed numerous chances and finished several times far too stubbornly instead of serving his teammates. However, he was then decisively involved in the second goal, when he first won the ball shortly before half-time, drove it far forward and finally set up Diaz on the left side – who only had to cross to Laimer to make it 2-0. Scored late to make it 4-0 and thus upgraded his mixed performance.’

Enzo Maresca hang your head in shame 😬

Was he the problem?

Joao Pedro may have ruined Nicolas Jackson’s hopes

Joao Pedro’s explosive form under Liam Rosenior has effectively ended Chelsea’s desperate search for a solution up front, leaving Nicolas Jackson’s future at Stamford Bridge in significant jeopardy.

Since Rosenior took charge, the Brazilian has netted 10 goals in 12 games, proving he can provide the 20-goal-a-season threat that Enzo Maresca previously doubted.

With Jackson currently struggling to displace Harry Kane during a difficult loan spell at Bayern Munich, and Chelsea reportedly open to permanent offers from AC Milan, he no longer holds any leverage.

Chelsea’s hierarchy, once worried about their lack of a focal point, now have Pedro firing.
