Stephen Curry is open to adjusting his role in the future, saying he could come off the bench if he can no longer dominate as a starter.
Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry knows his legendary career won't last forever, but he's already thinking about ways to stay effective if he ever needs to scale back.

Despite dealing with patellofemoral pain syndrome, commonly known as runner's knee, that has kept him out for over a dozen games this season, Curry is still performing at an elite level in his 17th NBA season.
But he's also self-aware enough to consider a future where he isn't a full-time starter.
"There are some guys, that if they can't be themselves, if they can't be dominant, it's time to go," said Howard Beck of The Ringer on FanDuel TV's Run It Back. "Steph and I talked about this for a story I did back in January, and his thing was 'Yeah, I could be a role-player. I could come off the bench.'"

Curry isn't the first NBA star to think this way. Beck referenced Hall of Famers like Vince Carter, Paul Pierce, and Grant Hill, who all adapted to smaller roles while still contributing to their teams. Curry would only accept such a role if he could still make a positive impact on the court.
"He basically said 'I don't want to be a traffic cone out there defensively,' but he's always going to be able to shoot," Beck added.
