Arne Slot appeared to be handed a new injury concern in Liverpool's FA Cup victory over Wolves. Goals from Andy Robertson, Mohamed Salah and Curtis Jones sealed the win with the champions providing the perfect response to losing at Molineux in the Premier League just a few days earlier.
With a Champions League last-16 first leg against Galatasaray on the horizon, Slot made several changes in his squad which included a return to the fold for Florian Wirtz. The summer signing had missed Liverpool's last three games because of a back issue but came off the bench against Wolves to play the final 21 minutes.
During a press conference on Tuesday earlier this week, Slot had said: "He trained 'half and half' with the team yesterday. He made the next step in rehab.

"Let's see where he is today. He could be available for a few minutes in the best scenario. Everyone else is fine." Following Slot's comments, Wirtz playing just under one half of football certainly suggests that was the dream outcome.
Unfortunately for the Dutchman, just as a key midfielder returns, he may have to cope without a different one going forward. In the final knockings of the fifth round tie, Alexis Mac Allister appeared to pick up an issue and was later helped off by physios.
Trey Nyoni was sent on as his replacement for the final stages and though it did not look great, Slot was able to provide a hopeful update after the game. When asked if Mac Allister was OK, he said: “I think so, yeah.”
While Mac Allister could certainly feature in Turkiye next week, Alexander Isak will not be available as he continues to recover from a broken leg suffered back in December.
Slot has confirmed he is back running on the grass and though he still has a number of rehab goals to hit, the Liverpool head coach revealed he is on track to play again this season.

Wataru Endo meanwhile, is not expected to return before this campaign ends but there is hope he can feature for Japan in the World despite only having ankle surgery last month.
Conor Bradley also underwent an operation after the right-back suffered a serious knee injury during the draw against Arsenal in early 2026. He is another player that has played his final minutes of the 2025/26 season.
The Northern Irishman is not actually set for a return until November with Giovanni Leoni another Liverpool defender targeting a comeback later this year.
He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament rupture on his debut in the Carabao Cup against Southampton back in September 2025. Despite having missed six months of action, Leoni has been keeping busy and impressed staff with his dedication in the gym.
