2026 WR Draft Prospects: Who Has The Best Relative Athletic Score?

Today, I wanted to visualize some great data from Kent Lee Platte’s Relative Athletic Scores (RAS) for wide receivers (WR). Here is a link to Platte’s website in case you haven’t seen his work https://ras.football/.

To qualify for a RAS score, a player must have a total of six recorded metrics from any of the following: Height, Weight, Forty-yard dash, Twenty-yard split, Ten-yard split, Bench Press, Vertical Jump, Broad Jump, Short Shuttle, and 3-Cone. The player is then graded on each metric compared to the positional database since 1987 to get a better sense of their size, speed, explosion, agility, and total value, giving context to the raw numbers.

The goal of the series is to provide the RAS from Platte and visualize it to get a simultaneous view of all the players at their position who participated in the combine. Here are the players who qualified for a RAS:

Thirteen of 28 qualifying WRs have a RAS above nine, compared to 17 of 34 in my 2025 WR RAS article. Evidence of fewer players participating at the combine each passing year, and less elite athleticism in the 2026 WR draft class.

The top WR RAS post-combine was Cincinnati’s Jeff Caldwell, a near-perfect 10.0 score (9.99). He has elite size (6050 height, 216 weight), speed (4.31 40-time), and explosion (42.0 vertical, 1102 broad jump). No agility testing. 32 5/8 arms and 9 3/4 hands.

Florida’s J. Michael Sturdivant (9.96 RAS) has elite speed (4.40 40-time) and explosion (39.0 vertical, 1011 broad jump). Great size (6030 height, 207 weight). No agility testing. 32 7/8 arms and 9 1/2 hands.

Georgia State’s Ted Hurst (9.92 RAS) has great size (6040 height, 206 weight), speed (4.42 40-time), and explosion (36.5 vertical, 1103 broad jump). No agility testing. 32 5/8 arms and 9 3/4 hands.

De’Zhaun Stribling of Ole Miss (9.90 RAS) has elite speed (4.36 40-time). Great explosion (36.0 vertical, 1007 broad jump). Good size (6020 height, 207 weight). No agility tests. 31 5/8 arms, 10.0 hands.

While there have been more athletic classes in the past, there are certainly some to choose from in the 2026 NFL Draft. The top five RAS scores at WR were all 9.90 or better: Jeff Caldwell (Cincinnati), J. Michael Sturdivant (Florida), Bryce Lance (North Dakota State), Ted Hurst (Georgia State), and De’Zhaun Stribling (Ole Miss).

Of course, this is just one piece of the puzzle, but certainly some names Pittsburgh can choose from at a position of need.

For those who like the numbers, it’s unfortunate when players don’t test fully at the combine. It will be interesting to monitor the pro days and see how the men stack up in the coming weeks, when Platte updates the site with the unofficial numbers.
