Arsenal are among the teams preparing their move for Sandro Tonali ahead of the summer transfer window, with the midfielder's agent attending the Gunners game with Brighton in midweek.
The Newcastle star, 26, is expected to be hot property at the end of the season with it being well documented that a number of Premier League clubs will be focusing on midfielders in the summer. And it seems as though clubs are already jostling in the background when it comes to a move for Tonali.
Arsenal were linked with a stunning move for the Italy international back on the final day of the winter transfer window - and it seems as though their interest has not gone away.
Tuttosport report that Andrea Berta, the Gunners' sporting director, is a big fan of Tonali and is preparing a 'new push' to bring the playmaker to north London, though Manchester City and Manchester United are both also keen.
However, they claim that Beppe Riso, Tonali's agent, was at Brighton on Wednesday night as Arsenal beat the Seagulls 1-0 to extend their lead at the top of the table.
While there is also interest in Tonali's interest from other elite clubs in Europe, most notably Real Madrid, it's said that the player is more likely to remain in the Premier League at this stage.
Manchester United have been targeting a host of quality midfielders, including Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton. United icon Paul Scholes, though, reckons Tonali is the finest midfielder in the Premier League.

"He's been brilliant. Very good. I would probably choose Tonali [as the league's best midfielder] at this point," he told The Overlap earlier this season.
He continued: "Yes, you're going to say Declan Rice, but I think he's better than Rice. I really like Rice, don't get me wrong, I think he's got everything.
"Sometimes he takes a few too many touches of the ball and tries to look a bit more stylish than necessary. He can do everything but I just don't think he does it enough. I prefer Tonali but they're both good players."
