'Outrageous' Giants free agency rumor suggests big move is coming for New York

You might want to hold on to your hats, Giants fans, because there's a rumor floating around out there that something big might be coming to New York.

The rumor comes from the New York Post's Ryan Dunleavy. Unfortunately, he does not say what the potential move is exactly, but he labeled what he's hearing as "outrageous."

"I don't usually do this but making an exception," Dunleavy explained. "I heard a Giants free agency rumor so outrageous today that I'm going to need like 8 sources to verify its true."

Dunleavy went on to calm expectations a bit by relabeling the rumor as "surprising," and he noted that the move is not "core-altering."

"Let me calm excitement Surprising. Not core-altering like many of these names in replies," Dunleavy added.

That's all we have at this moment from Dunleavy, which leaves us at the edge of our seats. Dunleavy isn't one to tease like this, so that's a strong hint the rumor could be for something really big.

However, it may not be long before we find out what this "outrageous" rumor was with the legal tampering period set to hit on Monday and the official start of free agency on Wednesday.

Reports suggest the Giants plan to be aggressive in free agency this offseason as new head coach John Harbaugh attempts to shape the roster more to his liking, so we shouldn't be totally surprised by any move, really.

Here's to hoping the Giants have something big up their sleeves that will galvanize the fan base even more.
