Trossard was named in a very attack-minded Arsenal line-up on Saturday afternoon as Mikel Arteta opted to rest the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi.
However, the Belgian’s afternoon came to a end shortly before half-time at the One Call Stadium.
Trossard went down, prompting concern from the Arsenal medical staff as he received treatment before being helped to his feet and then replaced by Piero Hincapie.
Arteta is likely to provide an update on the 31-year-old regarding the severity of the injury in the post-match press conference, though Trossard is now a doubt for Arsenal’s next fixture against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League last-16 first-leg on Wednesday night.
Trossard’s withdrawal and subsequent change in system helped Arsenal find a breakthrough three minutes later with Noni Madueke picking out the top corner with a shot from just inside the area.
The Gunners, who left Gabriel at home, are without William Saliba, Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino and Ben White for today’s FA Cup tie.
Arteta has confirmed that Saliba’s ankle injury - picked up during the win over Chelsea last weekend - is not related to the one he sustained earlier in the season.
"No, it's the other one," Arteta said.
"We thought the same straight after the game because he wasn't comfortable to finish the game.
"After straightaway he didn't have a good feeling so let's see if he recovers quickly."
