Jamal Murray is listed as probable on the official injury report for the Denver Nuggets' game on Friday, January 2.
On the second night of a back-to-back set, the Denver Nuggets couldn’t follow up with a second-straight win.
In fact, they ended up with two losses. A 142-103 blowout defeat against the New York Knicks was the first. A Jamal Murray injury was the second.
Before the Nuggets and the Knicks entered halftime, Murray was helped up off the floor after going down with an apparent ankle injury. The sight of a player needing assistance to walk off is never a promising sight.

The Nuggets had a slightly positive update coming out for the third quarter. They ruled Murray questionable to return. Ultimately, he didn’t take the court again for the remainder of the night, but considering the state of the game, that wasn’t a surprise.
“That’s not why we got our ass kicked,” Nuggets head coach David Adelman said after the loss.
“It was just because guys just let go of it, like they didn’t compete. I’d say three minutes to go in the third quarter to all the way through the fourth, outside of DaRan Holmes, I’d say nobody really competed. So, you don’t have to call a timeout. You just let it play out. And that’s what happens in professional basketball. “

GettyJamal Murray left the Denver Nuggets’ Friday night loss against the New York Knicks with an apparent ankle injury. His status moving forward is currently unknown.
The Nuggets didn’t have any definitive updates on Murray’s diagnosis or timeline.
When asked about it, Adelman hinted that it might not be a major deal as many initially feared. Still, nothing could be guaranteed as early as Friday night, though. Murray would need to go through more testing before the Nuggets can put a timeline on his recovery.
“They’re going to check on it [on Saturday]. It’s really sore,” Adelman said after the game.
“You guys all know Jamal. When he sprains his ankle, he usually comes back and plays. This has just been insane. Every time we get somebody back, I feel like that game, somebody else goes out. It has nothing to do with the game; it’s just the way it’s been. Whatever group we have that is healthy for OKC, whatever the minute restrictions are, and all of the excuses, we just have to play a hell of a lot better.”

Murray checked out after taking the court for 18 minutes. The veteran forward shot 5-10 from the field and knocked down one of his few three-point attempts. The veteran left the game with 12 points, three assists, and one rebound.
The Nuggets will get two days off in between games. On Monday, March 9, they’ll be back on the court for a matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Murray’s status for that game is currently up in the air. The Nuggets should have more clarity on his setback this weekend.
