Recent signing Jaden Dixon made his Arsenal senior debut as a substitute in a hard-fought 2-1 victory away to Mansfield Town in the FA Cup fifth round.

Dixon, who joined Arsenal from Stoke, came on at right-back in the 76th minute as he replaced Riccardo Calafiori.

Max Dowman started the game on his first senior appearance since returning from injury as he became Arsenal’s youngest ever FA Cup player.

Deployed in midfield, Dowman made some excellent runs and had a couple of shooting opportunities himself.

Marli Salmon started at right-back and was largely composed in the first half, although he made an error in the second period which led to a goal from Will Evans.

Arsenal, who had taken the lead through Noni Madueke, eventually restored their advantage courtesy of substitute Ebercehi Eze.

There were further academy callups, with Andre Harriman-Annous and Ife Ibrahim both unused substitutes. Khari Ranson was the third-choice goalkeeper.
