Spurs‘considering their options’ ahead of Liverpool clash as Igor Tudor fails to impress

There is major uncertainty surrounding the club heading to Anfield next week.

The former Juventus manager has failed to spark life into the London side that have lost five in a row in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur find themselves in an unthinkable position.

With 29 games played, they see themselves in 16th place, one point off the relegation zone with a real possibility of dropping down to the Championship growing with every game week that passes.

The ‘Big 6’ side are currently on a five-game losing streak, having not won in the Premier League for 11 matches.

Thomas Frank set the team off on the barren run, but his interim replacement Igor Tudor ha failed to turn things around as of yet.

The Italian has lost his first three games in charge and up next for him is a visit to Anfield to face a Liverpool side who will be desperate to make up ground in the hunt for Champions League qualification after a dismal defeat to 20th placed Wolves in their most recent Premier League fixture.

Ahead of the Spurs clash, The Telegraph have revealed the club’s current stance on Igor Tudor.

According to the report: “Tottenham Hotspur are considering their options for a second change in management in a month after three defeats in Igor Tudor’s first three matches in charge thrust the club into a relegation crisis.”

“As things stand, the club say Tudor, the former Juventus manager, will take the team for the Champions League round-of-16 first leg against Atlético Madrid on Tuesday. Spurs play Liverpool a week on Sunday at Anfield and then have a critical home game against fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest the following Sunday, March 22.”

“After that they have three weeks until their next Premier League game away at Sunderland on April 12, which looks like a natural break for a new manager to be installed. There could also be a Champions League quarter-final first leg to play in that period. Spurs may feel that they cannot wait until after the Forest game, if they are to make a change.”

The international break could provide the perfect opportunity to switch manager again and that has not been ruled out.

Such is the inconsistency of Spurs this season, you feel that if Spurs were to lose heavily to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and follow that up with a loss at Anfield, Tudor may just be on his way out the door.

Tottenham Hotspur have been in contact with Roberto De Zerbi but that is being considered as a summer appointment and not one within the current campaign.

There is most definitely a lot of uncertainty and a lack of structure within the side that are Liverpool’s next Premier League opponents.
