Travis Kelce, Giants Rumor Is Gaining Steam Before Free Agency

Apparently, Travis Kelce returning to the Kansas City Chiefs isn't a done deal this offseason.

Kelce has not yet announced his plans for the 2026 season. While it's possible he rides off into the sunset as a three-time Super Bowl champion and 11-time Pro Bowler, the recent reports indicate that he'll delay his retirement to 2027. That being said, WFAN's Craig Carton reported that Kelce is interested in playing for the New York Giants.

"The rumor is that Travis Kelce is not going to retire. He wants to come back for another year, but he does not want to go back to Kansas City," Carton said. "I saw a story today that Travis Kelce wants to play for the New York Giants! That way he and his wife can live in New York City, she can go to every game, and Travis Kelce can be in the biggest media market in America. I know it's just a rumor, but do not sleep on the Giants signing Kelce this offseason."

Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post fueled those rumors Friday by posting a cryptic message about the Giants.

"I don't usually do this but making an exception… I heard a Giants free agency rumor so outrageous today that Im going to need like 8 sources to verify its true," Dunleavy wrote on social media. "If it happens, i'll circle back to this flag plant."

Giants fans can't help but wonder if Kelce will be targeted by John Harbaugh in free agency

"I actually can make a guess here...TRAVIS KELCE. Taylor lives in NYC mostly, and he's on the verge of a big media career. Could see that being the rumor," one fan said.

"Travis Kelce would def be outrageous," a second fan commented.

"We either just fleeced a team for Kayvon, got rid of Dexter for nothing, or just blew our draft stock + salary cap on something like Travis Kelce or a WR," another fan replied.

What's the latest on Travis Kelce?

According to Matt Verderame of Sports Illustrated, the Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs should be considered the top landing spots for Kelce.

Kelce, who had 76 receptions for 851 yards and five touchdowns, hasn't said much regarding his NFL future. All we know is that he wants to keep the Chiefs informed throughout the process.

If we had to predict where Kelce ends up, we see him returning to the Chiefs on a one-year deal.
