Tyler Herro speaks on win vs. Hornets after hitting eight three-pointers

The Miami Heat traveled to Charlotte Friday night in search of their fourth consecutive victory.

That said, they looked to be underdogs on paper as the Hornets had won their last six in a row.

Not to mention, the Heat were dealing with plenty of injuries, most notably to Norman Powell, Andrew Wiggins and Nikola Jovic.

However, these injuries didn't stop the Heat from earning a road victory, as Tyler Herro turned in one of his strongest performances of the season.

Herro finished with a game-high 33 points on an incredible 8-for-10 shooting from three-point range. He also added nine rebounds, nine assists and one steal without committing any turnovers.

Bam Adebayo and Jaime Jaquez Jr. also had a huge hand in the win, combining for 45 points.

Following the game, Herro spoke to the media about the win, having prepared to earn a victory on the road.

“Woke up this AM, got in late last night. Our mindset was to steal one on the road. We know how much this meant to us in the standings. Collective W from top to bottom. We came in and competed."

As Herro stated, the win was tremendously important in the Eastern Conference standings.

After the victory, Miami has a three-game lead over the Hornets for the eighth seed. Had Charlotte won, they'd trail the Heat by just one game.

With even more momentum now, the Heat will hope to earn their fifth consecutive win Sunday against the conference-leading Detroit Pistons.
