The Los Angeles Rams are entering the 2026 offseason with a massive need in their cornerback room. They've already begun addressing this need.
While not official, the Rams have agreed to a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs for All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie. The two-time Super Bowl champion is joining the Rams for their Super Bowl push in 2026.
But, while the Rams are adding one Super Bowl champion CB, they're losing another, as the Rams announced veteran cornerback Darious Williams is retiring from the NFL after eight years in the league.
Rams' Darious Williams announces retirement
The Rams announced Williams' retirement on Twitter/x, and shared the following message: "Forever a Super Bowl LVI champ! Congrats on a great career, Darious!"
Williams is a 32-year-old cornerback who was an undrafted free agent. He made his debut in 2018 and was initially on the Baltimore Ravens roster before joining the Rams.
He went on to make 40 starts for the Rams in six seasons with the team, playing in 67 total games for the Rams. He signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars after his 2021 Super Bowl season, and then re-joined the team this past year for his final year in the NFL.

Williams was under contract for $8.6 million in 2026, and with his retirement, the Rams will save some cap space to find his replacement in free agency or the draft.
In his NFL career, which spanned eight years and 104 total games, Williams recorded 12 interceptions, one pick-six, 77 passes defended, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 306 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and one Super Bowl ring.
The 32-year-old cornerback had a very successful NFL career, especially for an undrafted free agent. Williams walks away after eight years in the league, most with the Rams, and a Super Bowl ring. It was a great career for Williams.
