Report: Carlo Ancelotti told Real Madrid to sign one of his key players at Everton

Former Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti rated Richarlison so highly that he even urged Real Madrid to sign him.

It is now years on from Richarlison’s departure to join Tottenham Hotspur for a fee in the region of £60m.

During their time together on Merseyside, the Brazilian striker was able to return 20 goals in his 59 appearances under Ancelotti.

Carlo Ancelotti urged Real Madrid to sign Richarlison

Back in 2020, Ancelotti claimed Richarlison could win the Ballon d’Or.

“He already told me that I’ll win the Golden Ball (Ballon d’Or), that I’ll win several championships,” Richarlison said.

According to AS, the Italian manager is enamoured with Richarlison following their time together at Goodison Park.

There is now an expectation that Richarlison will leave Tottenham this summer after the World Cup.

Spurs find themselves deep in a relegation battle, but the 28-year-old has barely been used by interim manager Igor Tudor.

With nine goals in total this season, Richarlison could well be an option for Angus Kinnear to consider over the coming months.
