Revealed: The numbers behind Ryan Gravenberch’s new Liverpool salary

The midfielder put pen to paper on a new deal on Saturday afternoon.

Ryan Gravenberch has made 123 appearances for Liverpool since joining in 2023, becoming a key player under Arne Slot.

The Dutchman has utilised the player in a way Jurgen Klopp didn’t, making the deep lying midfield role Gravenberch’s and he has thrived in it.

Rarely injured, very consistent, Ryan Gravenberch has now committed his long-term future to the club that will see him be a Red until the summer of 2032, demonstrating the player’s willingness to spend the majority of his career at the club.

After going through a summer of significant change, there has definitely been an emphasis this season on targeting key players within the team to tie down to new deals.

Talks continue to stall over Ibrahima Konate, but securing Ryan Gravenberch to a new deal, after already tying Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah to new deals last summer, prepares Liverpool’s spine for the immediate future and beyond.

Dutch sports reporter Mike Werweij has now revealed the numbers behind Ryan Gravenberch’s new deal.

According to the article: “Ryan Gravenberch’s agent Jose Fortes Rodriguez has negotiated a total salary of over 100million euros, spread over the next six years. Various performance-related bonuses could still be added on top of that.”

That equates to approximately 275k a week which puts him within the highest earners at the club.

The top five earners at the club now consist of Mohamed Salah (£400,000 per week), Virgil van Dijk (£350,000 per week), Alexander Isak (£280,000 per week), Ryan Gravenberch (approx. £275,000 per week) and Florian Wirtz (£200,000 per week).

This comes after it was revealed that Liverpool currently have the highest wage bill in the Premier League.

Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah’s contract renewals certainly would’ve bumped that figure but with the confirmation of Ryan Gravenberch’s renewal arriving, there has now been an update that Dominik Szoboszlai will be the club’s primary focus.
