Is Steph Curry playing vs. Thunder tonight? Final status for Warriors star

The Golden State Warriors will look to get their first win of the season against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night. They lost all three of the previous meetings between the teams this season.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, they still won’t have the services of their star guard.

Steph Curry ruled out vs. Thunder due to lingering knee injury

Steph Curry has been ruled out of the game against Oklahoma City due to the lingering knee injury that has kept him sidelined for well over a month at this point.

The injury has been labeled as right patellofemoral pain syndrome, which is also commonly known as "runner's knee – an injury defined by pain and swelling around the kneecap area.

It will be the 13th consecutive game missed by Curry due to the injury. The stat guard's last game action came way back on Jan. 30 against the Detroit Pistons. Curry is expected to miss at least a few more games before potentially returning to action, though no clear return timetable has been provided at this point.

"It's going to be a little longer," Curry said recently of the injury, via ESPN. "Right now, with this one, it's about each day, can you stack good days? I've done that. Hopefully they can unleash me on the court soon and hopefully get back sooner than later.

"... Trying to stay in shape, strengthen everything else around the body, knowing at this stage, once you get back, it's a full sprint to the playoffs," Curry added. "Once I get back on the court, it's a little bit of a pain tolerance thing. But it's just something you don't want lingering because it can get worse."

On the season, Curry has appeared in 39 games for the Warriors and he's averaging 27.2 points, 4.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals per performance.
