The Memphis Grizzlies were once among the most intriguing young cores in the NBA during the 2022 season.

That said, a series of injuries (and now trades) have set the franchise back into rebuilding mode.

Ja Morant still remains on the roster, but he has been out of the lineup since January due to injury.

This week, the Grizzlies announced that Morant will be out for at least two more weeks.

The former All-Star is averaging 19.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 8.1 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 41.0% from the field and 23.5% from three-point range in 20 games this year.

Morant was the second pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Murray State.

He has spent all seven seasons of his pro career in Memphis.

In 2022, Morant and the Grizzlies reached the second round of the NBA playoffs.

The Grizzlies are the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 23-38 record in 61 games.

They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak (and have won three out of their last ten).

On Saturday night, the Grizzlies will host the LA Clippers.
