Liverpool have been linked with a move for versatile Bayern Munich star Konrad Laimer, whose contract negotiations at the Allianz Arena have stalled.
Back when he was pondering an exit from RB Leipzig, Laimer was on Liverpool’s radar but ended up joining Bayern instead.
Claims from Germany pointed to the Reds going back in for the 28-year-old who, under Vincent Kompany, has become one of Europe’s standout right-backs.

Christian Falk, Head of Football at German outlet BILD, says these rumours aren’t as concrete as we were led to believe.
Christian Falk pours cold water on Konrad Laimer to Liverpool rumours
Falk is as reliable a source as you will find when it comes to reporting on Bayern.
On the latest episode of Bayern Insider, he shares what he has heard about the Austrian’s current situation.
On the Liverpool links, he explains: “So I can say it’s not true that there’s something concrete at the moment. Of course, many clubs see that he is in this position very, very good. Before, he wasn’t a right back; now he’s one of the best right backs in Europe at the moment.

“He’s a midfield player. But yes, everybody sees all the problems in the negotiation with Bayern Munich.”
He’s not saying there’s nothing to the rumours. The top clubs will be keeping an eye on the contract talks that are taking place. But it sounds like no real approach has been made, or will be for the time being.
As for what the issue in negotiations is, Falk explains: “I heard there was just only one meeting, and this meeting was already at the end of the last season.
“And Bayern made an offer for the bosses Freund and Eberl, and it was better than his contract he has now, but not so much better as Konrad Laimer expected. He was a free agent when he came from Leipzig, and he expected really more money.”
As it stands, Liverpool aren’t as involved with Laimer as some would have you believe, but if no progress can be made on extending his deal in Bavaria, we may well see FSG reignite their interest.

We saw what happened at right-back this season when Liverpool were hit with multiple injuries. When all are fit, Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley are good enough to lock down the position, but we’re very short when even one goes down.
If Liverpool were to sign more right-back depth, a natural holding midfielder like Laimer who can play in the back four would be really smart business — killing two birds with one quality stone. For now, it’s one to monitor.
