DeAndre Hopkins did not have a good 2025 season with the Baltimore Ravens. The franchise missed the playoffs for the first time since 2021, and had an 8-9 record in the regular season. It was one of their worst seasons in recent times, and led to long-time head coach John Harbaugh being fired.
This has led the franchise to change things this offseason in preparation for the next season. However, a recent tweet from Hopkins has made fans concerned.
DeAndre Hopkins tweets after Maxx Crosby trade
The Ravens completed the trade of Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby on March 6, 2026. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, an agreement has been reached between the two franchises, with the Raiders getting the Ravens’ first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft and the 2027 NFL Draft. It will become official after the new league year begins on March 11 and after Crosby passes the medical.

Crosby has established himself as one of the best defensive ends in the league, and was being sought after by other franchises. It is the first time the franchise has traded a first-round pick for a player in their history. The Ravens trading him is a sign of their strong ambitions for the next season.
Moments after the news of the trade became public, wide receiver Hopkins posted on X. It simply said, “The Ravens got a dog!” It signaled his approval of the player, and nods to Crosby’s toughness on the field. However, many Ravens fans became concerned as Hopkins referred to the Ravens in the third-person, instead of saying “we”. Many think the veteran may leave the franchise, as he is going to become a free agent soon.
Hopkins signed a one-year deal worth $5 million in March 2025 as a free agent, set to expire and make him an unrestricted free agent starting March 11, 2026. He only started 3 out of the 17 games he played, and only had 22 catches for 330 yards and 2 touchdowns. At 34 years old, with limited performance and stronger in-house options, the Ravens may not re-sign him, though fans hope they do.
Ravens fans think DeAndre Hopkins will leave the franchise
The Ravens fanbase came to the comments to share their thoughts on Hopkins potentially signalling his exit from the franchise.
One user wrote, “You mean WE got a dog??”
A second user said, “Are you not a Raven anymore? “We got a dawg?””
A third user remarked, “saying the ravens got a dog when they already had a dog is peak teammate who just left energy”.
Another added, “Why he said the Ravens and not we 😭😭😢”.
A fifth user replied, “Bro acting like he ain’t coming back 😂”.
A sixth user commented, “So if k1 comes to Vikings you on your way to right, this tweet seems like you might not be back”.
It remains to be seen whether DeAndre Hopkins will resign or leave the Ravens ahead of the 2026 NFL season.
