Packers trade DT Colby Wooden to Colts for Lb Zaire Franklin

Zaire Franklin led the league in tackles as recently as two seasons ago.

The Packers are reportedly trading defensive tackle Colby Wooden to the Colts for linebacker Zaire Franklin.

Franklin, who was selected by Indianapolis in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Syracuse, turned in the best season of his eight-year career in 2024. He led the NFL with 173 tackles while also recording two interceptions and forcing five fumbles. Last season, Franklin played in all 17 games for the Colts, recording 125 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble.

Colby Wooden’s time in Green Bay comes to an end just as he was supposed to be on the Packers annual tailgate tour. The former fourth round pick made 87 tackles during his time in Green Bay.
