Moore was first drafted out of Purdue University in 2021 by the Arizona Cardinals, where he spent three seasons. He was traded to the Atlanta Falcons in 2024, but a devastating right knee dislocation during training camp sidelined him for the entire year. He was again traded to the Minnesota Vikings in 2025, and this time suffered a season-ending ACL tear in preseason, which also caused him to miss the entire season once more.

These repeated injuries caused his career to stagnate and Moore started to suffer from mental health issues, which ultimately contributed to his suicide. His funeral took place on March 6, 2026, at Northside Christian Church in New Albany, attended by family, friends, and a small group of Moore’s NFL teammates. According to former teammate Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts, only 6-7 players including him attended the funeral.

He wrote a post criticizing the low attendance from his NFL peers, “Crazy how only about 6 maybe 7 of your teammates in the NFL showed up for you today smfh. All that talk and fake emotion and nobody want to show up to lay you to rest. Just at a loss of words.” Fans did not like that such a low amount of people from the NFL attended the death of the young talent, despite many posting on social media after the death.

A sixth user commented, “Props to Kyle Pitts @kylepitts__ for not only talking the talk, but walking the walk. Rondale Moore @moore_rondale mostly suffered in silence and when needed most, his “brothers” were not to be found.. @nfl is hard, the alpha-male brotherhood makes asking for help harder.”
