For the first time since being traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Baltimore Ravens, pass rusher Maxx Crosby has broken his silence.

In a 12:58-long video posted on his social media accounts, Crosby starts the video by giving thanks to the Raiders organization.

“Alright y’all, can’t believe that this is a real thing. It’s been seven years being with the nation. Raider nation has given me everything. My family, I’ve had the chance to get married, have the most beautiful daughter in the world. Grow as a man, as a player, as a leader, as a human being. One thing I can say above all else is I gave y’all everything I got, and I got no regrets about that. I put everything into trying to win as a Raider.”

Crosby, a five-time Pro Bowler and one of the most influential and dominant Raiders of all-time, was traded on March 6th to the Ravens in exchange for a 2026 and 2027 first-round draft pick.

Maxx Crosby Breaks Silence Since Being Traded

Here are some of the highlights of Crosby’s almost 13-minute-long video:

“It’s been a damn journey. Since the day I got drafted, I’ll never forget that 510 number coming and hit my phone when I was in Texas at my draft party, not knowing where that was. Getting a call from Jon Gruden giving me an opportunity of a lifetime to be a Raider, and it felt perfect. Ever since I’ve been here I’ve had one goal and one mission that’s become the best version of myself and help bring a championship back to the Raider organization. I feel like I left everything I had on the table for this team. I’ve given my heart and soul, and I feel like I let y’all down, man.

Thank you to Mark Davis first and foremost. He gave me the opportunity. At the end of the day he is the owner. He is the man calling the shots. He believed in me since day 1. Allowed me to be myself. He allowed me to grow. He allowed me to make mistakes and learn from them and grow from them. I’ll never forget having to check myself into a rehab back after my rookie season. At my lowest point and the Raider organization supported me throughout all of that, and I can’t thank them enough for that because without them I wouldn’t have the opportunity to make it through that.

The fans, Jon Gruden, Mike Mayock for drafting me. But the fans, I mean you guys have supported me through it all. The ups, the downs.

To the fans, I love y’all so much man. Y’all supported me through it all, regardless of everything. I wanted to do it for y’all.

I decided to be quiet because there’s so much noise and ultimately I’m a football player.

I wanted everything good for the Raiders. I bleed Silver and Black. That’ll never change.

I truly want to finish, when it’s all said and done, in a Raiders jersey, whenever that time comes.”

Final Message

Crosby’s final message was this:

“I wish the whole Raider nation the absolute best. But it’s time for this next chapter. I’m so excited. I love all of y’all. All of my supporters. Everyone tuning in. Football is my world man. It’s my passion since I was a child I knew exactly what I wanted to do in my life and that’s be the best football player in the world and help win a Super Bowl with whatever organization I’m with. So that never changes. It’s Raiders nation for life. But right now it’s Flock nation and I’m all in. I’m gonna give y’all everything I have in my heart and soul man and it’s gonna be an incredible journey and we got work to do but I love you guys I appreciate you. Every single fan, everyone tuning in. The hate, the love, all that is welcome man and it’s understandable but it’s time for this next chapter. I love you guys so much I appreciate you, let’s do this.”

Here’s what ESPN’s Ryan McFadden had to say about the Raiders trying to replace Crosby.

“The Raiders cannot truly replace Crosby. He is one of the best defensive players in the NFL, registering double-digit sacks in three of the past four seasons. However, they have the draft capital to expedite their rebuild.

With the No. 14 pick received in this draft, Las Vegas will have an opportunity to fill a glaring need on offense such as wide receiver or guard. But if the Raiders decide to go with a defensive pick, they could lean toward taking Miami edge rusher Akheem Mesidor or Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods.”

It’s going to be extremely difficult to find someone who can fill Crosby’s shoes, but the Raiders now have the draft capital and cap space to attempt doing so.
