Patrick Mahomes had one of the worst seasons in his career. The quarterback suffered a season-ending injury late in the season. He failed to inspire the Kansas City Chiefs to a good season, as the franchise finished 6-11 in the regular season and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
Now the player has a lot of free time in the offseason period, which he is using to have a little fun.

However, he did not let his injury stop him from having fun. The quarterback recently made headlines when he went for a relaxing occasion with his wife Brittany Mahomes at friend Kate Van Wyk’s wedding in his native Texas. He grew up in Tyler, Texas and was a Dallas Cowboys fan since childhood.
Patrick was drafted by the Chiefs in the 2017 NFL Draft and has stayed there till now. He recently faced the Cowboys in a 31-28 Thanksgiving loss at AT&T Stadium.
Brittany shared a lot of pictures on her Instagram of the night. It was captioned, “Love celebrating love!, and featured a lot of pictures from their night. Patrick embraced his roots and donned a brown cowboy hat along with a pale blue shirt, dark blue pants, and white sneakers, and was seen chugging a Coors Light beer. He did not appear to wear any protective gear such as a knee brace which suggests that his recovery is going well.
Patrick Mahomes’ injury recovery going well
FOX Sports analyst Jay Glazer gave an update on Patrick’s injury on the “Dan Patrick Show.” He said, “His pain threshold is different, his work ethic is different. So at first they were like, ‘Oh, you know, start of the season.’ I would probably hedge on him being back sooner than that. By far. Because he just attacks things.”
He added, “The initial reports were kind of on the fringe there, but I want to tell you, Patrick’s different. He got the surgery before it swelled up. So, that was on a Tuesday. I believe it was either Thursday or Friday that week, he was already in the Chiefs’ training room doing rehab. And he had already got his knee bending at 90 degrees at that point. He’s just different, he heals differently.”
Patrick Mahomes is expected to be available at the start of the 2026 NFL season, with his rehab going well.
