Cleveland Cavaliers Make Donovan Mitchell Announcement Before Celtics Game

On Sunday afternoon, the Cleveland Cavaliers will host the Boston Celtics in Ohio.

The Cavs are coming off a 113-109 victory over the Detroit Pistons.

Donovan Mitchell missed his fourth straight game with an injury.

For Sunday’s game, the Cavs have announced that Mitchell will be listed as probable.

Spencer Davies of ClutchPoints wrote: “Jarrett Allen (right knee tendonitis) is out for #Cavs vs. Celtics. Donovan Mitchell (right groin strain) and Dean Wade (right ankle sprain) are probable. Jaylon Tyson (neck strain) is questionable.

Max Strus and Tyrese Proctor are also out.”

Mitchell is in the middle of another incredible season with averages of 28.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 48.3% from the field and 36.9% from three-point range in 55 games.

He is in his fourth season playing for the Cavs.

Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com wrote (on Friday): “#Cavs Donovan Mitchell (groin), Dean Wade (ankle) and Max Strus (offseason foot surgery) all participated in today’s practice. Jarrett Allen (knee) did not.”

The Cavs come into play as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 39-24 record in 63 games.

They are in the middle of a two-game winning streak (and have won seven out of their last ten).

At home, the Cavs have gone 21-11 in 32 games.

Following the Celtics, the Cavs will play their next game on Monday night when they remain at home to host the Philadelphia 76ers.
