The latest Dallas Mavericks' Cooper Flagg injury update signals the Rookie of the Year candidate could return Thursday vs. the Orlando Magic.
Following a back-to-back set for the Dallas Mavericks, the rookie star Cooper Flagg could get a night off on Sunday.
According to the official injury report, Flagg has been downgraded to questionable for the Mavs’ matchup against the Toronto Raptors.
The good news is that Flagg’s injury designation is injury management. That signals he didn’t suffer a new ailment or a setback with his midfoot sprain. The Mavs are likely moving with caution.

Currently on a road trip out East, Flagg and the Mavericks traveled to Charlotte to take on the Hornets for a March 3 matchup. As expected, Flagg was not a part of the game.
When the Mavs approached their March 5 game against the Orlando Magic, Flagg was finally upgraded. The rookie was slated to return to the court for the first time in eight games.
He checked in for 25 minutes. The rookie shot 7-22 from the field to score 18 points. He also racked up five rebounds, four blocks, and six assists.
When Flagg and the Mavericks returned to the court to take on the Boston Celtics on Friday, March 6, there wasn’t any doubt about Flagg’s availability. The rookie didn’t want to miss a homecoming, playing in Boston for the first time in his career.
Flagg exceeded 30 minutes of action against the Celtics. For the second night in a row, the rookie shot 7-23 from the field. He missed all four of his shots from three. Flagg wrapped up the game with 16 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and one steal.
The Mavericks return to the floor up North for a 6 PM ET matchup on Sunday. Flagg could end up a game-time decision for the outing.
