KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - One of the longest-tenured members of the Kansas City Chiefs is set to return for another year with the organization.
According to a [report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport](https://x.com/RapSheet/status/2030365259693777334?s=20), the Chiefs are re-signing veteran long-snapper James Winchester to a one-year deal.
The deal is reportedly worth $1.75 million and keeps Winchester as the NFL’s highest-paid long-snapper.

Winchester has played for Kansas City since 2015 and is a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Chiefs.
In his career, the Oklahoma product has played 181 regular season games and 25 playoff games for Kansas City.
He’ll return to a Chiefs special teams unit that includes kicker Harrison Butker, who, like Winchester, is also the highest paid player at his position in the NFL.
Only tight end Travis Kelce -- who has yet to make a decision on whether he’ll return in 2026 -- has played for the Chiefs longer than Winchester among members of the organization’s roster.
