Everton have a decision to make regarding the long-term future of the player this summer

Everton defender Nathan Patterson is wanted by Sevilla ahead of the summer, as per Spanish news outlet Vamos Mi Sevilla. The right-back is being linked with a switch to La Liga in the next transfer window. His contract at the Hill Dickinson Stadium expires in June 2027.

The Toffees won 2-0 at home against Burnley last time out in the Premier League. James Tarkowski and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall got their goals against the Clarets. They are aiming to get into Europe this season under the guidance of David Moyes.

Everton defender Nathan Patterson linked with Sevilla move

Everton have a decision to make regarding the future of Patterson. They risk losing him for nothing as things stand. Therefore, they may well be open to a sale when this campaign ends to ensure that they pick up a fee for his signature.

Patterson, 24, gives the Toffees more competition and depth at the back. However, he has struggled to keep fit during his four years with the club. He has made 65 appearances in all competitions since his transfer back in 2022, six of which have come this term.

The Scotland international, who has 23 caps to his name, rose up through Rangers’ academy. He was a regular for the Scottish Premiership giants at various different youth levels before breaking into their first-team as a youngster. The Glasgow-born man went on to play 27 matches and chipped in with two goals from the back before heading down the border to England when Everton came calling.

Everton reaction to Burnley win

Speaking after their victory over Burnley, Everton manager Moyes had this to say about their European chances: "I want to be positive, and I want to believe and I want the players to believe. I have said to them right at the start, that should be what we aim for if we can try and do it. It's getting closer.

“I'm not saying we can do it and I'm not saying we cannot. We're not being talked about as a club that's in relegation and falling away. We actually think we're a club that's making progress and we can start tickling the top teams and putting them under a bit of pressure."
