Reports linking Anthony Gordon with a summer move to Arsenal have resurfaced recently.
That is despite the England winger having a long-term contract with Newcastle at St. James Park.
And now it has emerged that the North-East club could demand that Gabriel Martinelli should be included as any makeweight in the deal.
That could see the Brazilian become their highest paid player, although any deal could still be complicated because of PSR rules regarding players swapping clubs.
Manchester United and Liverpool are also both tracking Gordon’s situation, although Gordon’s previous Everton affiliations would complicate a move back to Merseyside.
Martinelli has previously indicated that he is happy to remain at Arsenal, having previously been linked to a move to the Saudi Pro League. However, with concerns over his output – he has managed just one Premier League goal so far this season – Gordon could be an upgrade in terms of productivity.
