Report: Chelsea planning new deal for £56m star even though his current contract ends in 2033

Just this week, Estevao was named Young Player of the Year at the London Football Awards. Chelsea are fully aware of the talent they have on their hands, and are already planning for his future.

In the summer of 2024, Chelsea agreed a mammoth deal with Palmeiras that saw the Blues pay the Brazilian club a fee of £29m to sign the 11-time Brazil star. A deal that could reach £56m with add-ons.

A groundbreaking deal for a player so young, Estevao remained on loan at Palmeiras until the Club World Cup and has since sparkled in a Chelsea shirt. The 18-year-old is a fan favourite among Chelsea regulars.

This season, Estevao has had a hand in 10 goals in 32 games and while he is currently injured, the star’s potential has not been lost on fans or, as it seems, the club itself. A new deal is in the offing for Estevao.

Chelsea planning new contract for Estevao after World Cup

When Estevao put pen to paper on a move to Chelsea 18 months ago, he signed a nine-year contract at Stamford Bridge. A huge deal for Estevao and Chelsea, but also a sign Chelsea trusted his potential.

They were right to do so. Now, Spanish newspaper AS report that Chelsea are planning a new deal for Estevao after the World Cup this summer. Currently, Salary Sport says Estevao earns £72,000 a week.

A big contract for a teenager and yet, one of the smaller wages in the Chelsea squad. Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho and Pedro Neto earn more and perhaps, a new deal will see him fall in line with that.

It is believed Chelsea will wait until after the World Cup before beginning to act on their plan to hand Estevao a new contract. It is not as if they are in a race against time to get Estevao to sign on.

Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed Estevao will be at the World Cup

Certainly, Estevao has been a key part of Ancelotti’s early tenure as Brazil manager. Asked if Estevao will be on the plane to North America in the summer, Ancelotti was surprisingly open regarding Estevao.

Out of Andrey Santos, Joao Pedro and Estevao Willian, who deserves a World Cup place the most?🤔

He said, in December as per TNT, that he thinks Estevao will be a part of the Brazil squad: “I think so. Based on how Estevao has played in the last six months, I think so. Estevao will be at the World Cup.”

Currently sidelined with a muscle injury, it seems unlikely that Estevao will be a part of the Chelsea squad that travels to Paris next week. But there is no doubt that Estevao is living up to his enormous potential.
