Steelers, Dolphins, Cardinals named best landing spots for top offensive free agent

Teams in search of a quarterback this offseason likely have their eyes on Green Bay Packers pending free agent, Malik Willis.

Willis looked to be a total bust during his days with the Tennessee Titans, but a trade to the Packers in 2024 has helped revive his career.

Willis has been sensational in limited opportunities and will now parlay that into a sizeable contract and starting job in 2026, even with his small sample size.

When it comes to the best fits for Willis, Bucky Brooks of NFL.com believes the Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins are on that list.

The Steelers may or may not be in the market for a quarterback this offseason. That will depend upon what Aaron Rodgers does. A report from Nick Farabaugh of PennLive.com suggests Willis is the Steelers' plan B for Rodgers.

The Dolphins make sense for multiple reasons. For starters, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports Miami is indeed interested in Willis.

Tua Tagovailoa's days in Miami are over, it's just a matter of how the Dolphins cut ties with him. We don't see Miami handing the keys to the car to Quinn Ewers in 2026, and Willis is young enough to be a long-term solution.

Adding to that, Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley and general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan were both in Green Bay with Willis the past two seasons.

Believe it or not, the Cardinals have been rumored to be the expected landing spot for Willis in more than one report this offseason.

Lest we forget, Willis played under Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur's brother, Matt LaFleur, so that connection could be important here.

Furthermore, the Cardinals have a need at quarterback with Arizona set to end the Kyler Murray era this offseason, leaving the team with just Jacoby Brissett.
