Alexis Mac Allister’s father responds to rumours of Liverpool contract renewal talks

Carlos Mac Allister has provided an update on his son’s situation at Liverpool.

Ryan Gravenberch signed a new long-term contract extension with Liverpool yesterday, tying him to a new deal with the club until the summer of 2032.

Following that announcement, Paul Joyce for The Times provided multiple contract updates on other players.

The report includes the fact that Ibrahima Konate and Andrew Robertson’s futures remain uncertain, and their respective ages could play a role in what the club decide to prioritise.

Ibrahima Konate is moving into his peak years as a centre-back and the Reds will be hoping Real Madrid don’t snap up another of their top talents.

Andy Robertson will be 32 on the 11th March and has been forced to be a clear back-up to Milos Kerkez this season.

Those two players futures remain so uncertain as we approach the summer.

However there was some more positive news as it was confirmed that Liverpool are actively in discussions with Dominik Szoboszlai over renewing his current deal.

The Hungarian has emerged as a standout player for the Reds amidst a turbulent campaign.

Paul Joyce also confirmed that there has been contact with the club and Mac Allister’s father, who represents Alexis.

But his situation appears to not be as advanced as Dominik Szoboszlai’s as Carlos Mac Allister reveals.

Speaking to winwinsports, Carlos Mac Allister said: “There are no negotiations with Liverpool in order to renew the contract.”

That is a direct contradiction to reports that there had been talks to extend the Argentinian’s stay on Merseyside.

Carlos has previously confirmed that his son is happy and comfortable at Liverpool and he is simply waiting for an offer to renew his contract with the Reds.

Alexis Mac Allister had a disrupted start to the season after recovering from a recurring fitness issue but he has got back into his groove recently, becoming a vital component in a Liverpool midfield that dominated the league last season.
