Liverpool have launched a complaint against X

The club have contacted Elon Musk’s X over a situation that is escalating quickly.

Social media can often be a place where people of all walks of life can be exposed to content that is not suitable for anyone.

There are safeguarding systems in place, but this kind of content still appears to slip through the cracks; there is always a loophole that users will look to exploit.

In X’s case, this loophole exists through the AI chatbot ‘Grok’.

Elon Musk launched the system in 2023, and it has been the subject of several major issues.

Users can ask Grok questions to generate content and at the minute, there appears to be no restrictions on what the chatbot can create when prompted.

It has now been revealed that Liverpool Football Club have been made aware of a series of inexplicable posts about tragedies such as Hillsborough and Heysel.

On top of that, posts about Diogo Jota, the Liverpool forward who tragically lost his life last summer in a car crash.

The AI generated response from ‘Grok’ is too disturbing to repeat in full but it included many horrific insults.

It has been revealed by The Athletic that on Sunday Liverpool were actively trying to get these posts removed.

Other top-flight sides have been the subject of such abuse, including both Manchester clubs and Sunderland.

Back in January, X received complaints from Ofcom that the chatbot was producing other disturbing images and X responded by stating that they had identified lapses in safeguards and was urgently fixing them.

It appears that they still have a lot to fix.
