The Green Bay Packers were able to makle the playoffs once again last season, but are expected to see some changes to their roster this offseason. One of the players who was set to become a free agent will no longer do so after agreeing to a multiple-year contract with the team. Let’s take a deeper dive into who it is and what this means for the team’s offseason plans.
The Green Bay Packers re-sign offensive lineman Sean Rhyan to a 3-year contract

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Green Bay Packers have agreed to a three-year, $33 million contract with offensive lineman Sean Rhyan. The deal can max out at $39 million and has an $11 million signing bonus included. Rhyan was getting ready to become a free agent this offseason, but this deal locks him up for the next few years.
Rhyan spent time at both guard spots and center last season for the Packers. He started his career as an offensive tackle, but has primarily played at one of the offensive guard positions the previous two seasons. Below is the number of snaps he played at each position of the offensive line in 2025:
Left Tackle: 0
Left Guard: 56
Center: 456
Right Guard: 295
Right Tackle: 1
Rhyan was selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft and has proven to be a valuable player for the Packers, playing all over the offensive line throughout his four-year career (starter in the last two years) thus far. With the team getting prepared to lose Rasheed Walker in free agency, he is a player who can slide in at the tackle spot as well. It will be interesting to see how the Green Bay Packers look with Rhyan returning to the team.
