Chelsea travel to Paris for the first leg of their last 16 tie with the defending champions, looking to take a positive result back to London,

It’ll be a repeat of the Club World Cup final last summer, and the first time the two teams have met in the competition since the 2015/2016 season.

Liam Rosenior backs Joao Pedro to make impact against PSG

Rosenior rested a number of first team stars for Saturday’s win against Wrexham in the FA Cup with Reece James an unused substitute, whilst Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo didn’t travel.

Pedro was introduced with five minutes remaining, with the game headed for extra time, and he made an impact as he scored with virtually the last kick of the game to make it 4-2.

Alan Shearer praised Pedro for his impact, and he’ll find himself back in the starting line-up against PSG, and Rosenior has backed him to make a “massive” impact.

“Joao is on fire, he’s on fire,” he toldtalkSPORT.

“I think everybody knew when he picked up the ball and he was driving at their defence that something good was about to happen.

“He’s in that place, I wanted to manage his minutes because he’s going to be massive for us in Paris on Wednesday.

“But he did a really good job at helping us through this round.”

PSG there for the taking?

PSG aren’t in the best form heading into the game, with Luis Enrique’s men losing 3-1 at home to Monaco on Friday night.

Enrique admitted his team are low on confidence, and the Blues will have to fancy their chances of exposing some of those frailties.
